Block Parties/Attractional Events

With the end goal of planting new churches or strengthening existing congregations, team members and churches will use creative ways to share the gospel and Jesus’ love in targeted areas or neighborhoods.

Church Planting Through NOBA

This team will work alongside our church planting strategist and church planters to conduct events reaching the neighborhoods our church plants are in. If you are passionate about starting new churches, this is the group for you!

City Uprising – A Church Planting Event

If you are interested in working with a church plant in the New Orleans area that you can build long term partnership with this is the event for you.  Two of our New Orleans area church plants are utilizing City Uprising to do missions in NOLA during Crossover.  CU is an organization endorsed by the North American Mission Board that aids church plants in coordinating missions experiences for potential partner churches.  They have partnered with successful church plants in New York & Baltimore and now New Orleans!    To register for City Uprising and to get more information go to: cityuprising.com

Door–to-Door Team

This team will be presenting the gospel in neighborhoods and sharing a positive word about the local church in targeted areas. Local churches will be matched up with volunteers who will come to New Orleans to help.

Hispanic Ministry

The Hispanic population is the fastest growing people group in the New Orleans metropolitan area. Hispanic outreaches during Crossover will include servant evangelism, block parties and other events and will be held in partnership with several of our local Hispanic churches.

Intentional Community Evangelism (CE) Team

This is a specially trained team that will share their faith throughout the inner city area the week prior to Crossover (note: a cost is associated with this project). Team members will be matched with experienced CE Team members who will be coming to New Orleans to witness in several of our high-need areas.

Prayer

Members of the Prayer Team will have the opportunity to serve in a variety of areas assisting those that are engaged in the evangelistic outreach of Crossover. Whether it is through prayer walking or serving in a prayer tent at a block party, members of the prayer team will intercede on behalf of those serving.

SERVANT EVANGELISM – LOVE LOUD IN THE HEART OF THE CITY

Through the use of a prayer walking guide, volunteers will be guided from Baptist Friendship House through the Historic French Quarter of New Orleans. Each individual will be given bottled water to give out to individuals they encounter, such as homeless, street vendors from all over the world in the French Market, tourists, and people who work in the French Quarter. The prayer walking guide will provide information to educate and provide visual prompts for such issues as human trafficking, homelessness, and substance abuse. This is an opportunity to meet needs through love, action, and truth.
